John, fifth child of Peter and Janet Miller was born at Glen Para Mt Crawford on the 15 June 1854. A list of all children in the family is here.

John was an asthmatic. He never married, but lived and worked at Braeside all of his life with his father.

John Miller died shortly after his father, on 11 December 1906 aged 52 years and is buried with his parents at the South Rhine Cemetery.
