William Robert Jenkins (known as Bob) was born in Adelaide on 31 March 1915 to Edward and Jessie  Jenkins (nee Farquhar). He was one of six children, three boys and three girls.  He went to school at Norwood where his father was a greengrocer.

In 1943 Bob married Betty Robson and they had three sons, Dennis, Stephen and Phillip.

Bob died on 8 May 2006 and Betty died on 6 July  2003

Bob and Betty are buried in the South Rhine Cemetery along with their eldest son Dennis.
